FSC, Freischaltcode, authorises a function. If a repair requires an FSC file, apply it to the appropriate unit and check the result in the vehicle.

This guide covers Comfort Mode → FSC in E-Sys 25.10.01. Use it when the procedure for the particular unit specifies writing FSC through this module. The vehicle connection must already be established.

1. Prepare the file and unit data

You need the appropriate FSC, the vehicle's FA and the parameters of the receiving unit. FA contains the vehicle order and configuration. Keep the input files in the job folder.

If you received an FSC set, find the file for the required function. Check its purpose and vehicle association using the file data and accompanying information.

To view it, open Editors & Viewers → FSC Editor and select the file with … or File → Open. Its data appear in a tree. Writing to the vehicle takes place in another module.

For navigation FSC, check that the permission covers the installed map version before writing. A factory restoration code may cover only particular map versions.

2. Select the vehicle and permission

Open Comfort Mode → FSC.

  1. Use … in FSC to select the prepared file.
  2. Select this vehicle's FA in FA.
  3. Choose read VIN out of FA, select Read VIN and check the VIN against the vehicle.
  4. Enter the parameters for the target unit and permission.
Field Required data
Diagnostic Address (hex) Unit diagnostic address in hexadecimal
Base Variant Unit base variant
Application Number (hex/dec) Application number associated with the FSC
Upgrade Index (hex/dec) Upgrade index of the selected FSC

The address and variant identify the unit. The application number and index identify the permission. Obtain values from the particular unit, FSC and relevant technical procedure.

For hex/dec fields, account for the number base. The same number looks different in hexadecimal and decimal. Check both its value and the selected input format.

3. Check the initial state and write FSC

Select Check FSC status to read the selected permission's state in the unit. Save the messages using Save in the results area. This records the initial state.

If the procedure requires writing the prepared file:

  1. Select Write FSC and wait for the result. This writes the selected FSC to the unit.
  2. After successful writing, select Update FSC to check and activate the written code.
  3. Wait for completion and read the messages. If rejected, save the full message and investigate its cause.

The module also has Upgrade FSC, which combines writing with checking and activation. Here, perform the actions separately to see each stage's result.

4. Check the permission and function

Run Check FSC status again for the same unit, application number and index. Compare the result with the initial state and save the messages.

Establish that the code is activated and available for use. A write message describes only one stage; the unit must also accept the permission.

Check the function itself afterwards. For navigation, check the required maps and route calculation. If the code is accepted but the function fails, keep the diagnostic messages and check its other requirements.

Example

To restore navigation after repair, prepare an appropriate FSC for the vehicle and check its coverage of the installed maps. Select the file, FA and head unit parameters. Check the initial state, perform Write FSC → Update FSC, then check the code state again.

Check navigation in the vehicle afterwards. Together, these checks establish application of the permission and restoration of the function.

Obtain factory codes for a repair

If the job requires restoring a factory permission, request the available FSC by full VIN. Check the required code and its conditions before writing.

Orders are handled through the Telegram bot. Open the bot from the service page, check the selected service and follow its input instructions. Keep the result for the original procedure.
